Grant Application Process:
Step 1:
Please read the Applicant Guide before deciding if you would like to apply. Eligible nonprofits must submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) Letters may be submitted on a rolling basis. Organizations are encouraged to submit the LOI early so they have maximum time to complete the full application. If you submit your LOI close to the full application deadline, you may not have enough time to complete your full application.
Step 2:
LOIs will be reviewed on a rolling basis by FCJS Executive Director. Organizations will be notified via email if they are invited to submit a full grant application (link to grant application form will be provided only if invited to apply). Organizations submitting projects that have not been previously funded by FCJS are strongly encouraged to make an appointment to discuss the proposal with FCJS Executive Director prior to completing the application. This will help the organization frame their proposals and understand FCJS priorities. These consultations do not guarantee funding.
The next grant application deadline will be September 9, 2026 at 6 PM Eastern.
Step 3:
Organizations may be asked to answer additional questions or submit additional materials during the grant review period. Notification of award recipients for the next round will be announced in December, 2026. Grantees will be required to sign an agreement and provide a completed W9 before funds are released. Should a proposal be declined, the nonprofit is encouraged to reapply at the next grant cycle.
Step 4:
Grantees will execute their projects and submit Final Reports to FCJS in accordance with grant requirements.
